Configuring Hot Desk Devices and Auto DN Selection
(Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard)

Use this page to provision telephones for Hot Desking and to define a range of directory numbers (DNs) for auto-provisioning multiline IP telephones.

Auto-provisioning is a fast way to put phones into service. It saves the installer from having to enter a DN at each phone to register it on the MiVoice Business system. Only the Set Registration code is entered which triggers the system to select a DN from the range specified here to complete the registration.

To define a range of DNs for Automatic DN Selection Range

  1. Enter a Prefix from 1 to for characters (0-9, *, #). The prefix goes in front of each DN in the range. Example: a range 100 to 900 prefixed by 7* yields DNs from 7*100 to 7*900. The prefix and DN combined cannot exceed seven characters (the system maximum for DN length).

  2. Enter the first and last DNs in the range. Only digits (0-9) are allowed. Both entries must be the same length.

  3. (Optional) Select a secondary controller to make devices that use Automatic DN Selection during registration resilient.

NOTE: This option is only available when provisioning an existing element in a resilient cluster.

Hot Desk devices are assigned Class of Service 10. Hot Desk Login Accept is enabled in all cases. See Defaults applied to MiVoice Business for detailed COS definitions.
